The generously proportioned frames allow the Mashima 1420motor to sit between the frames in EM or P4 gauges. The production etch has been modified to make the brake rigging assembly much simpler and has added even more detail to the rear pull levers. The motor used on the prototype is a Mashima 1420 (Not supplied) but requires the body casting to be opened out to 14mm to clear the motor. Not a major task but if you don't fancy this then a Mashima 1220 will fill the bill and the body won't need to be modified. If you order one of these kits you'll need to specify whether you'll be using the Mashima 1420 or 1220 motor as the 1220 requires a Ø1.5mm bore worm and the 1420 uses a Ø2.0mm bore worm.
1 Comprehensive instructions comprising of 8, A4 pages of assembly instructions. One A4 page of diagrams and a parts list. The fret has part numbers etched beside each part for easier identification.
2 This is the latest addition to our Easi-Rider range of loco chassis for kit built loco's. The chassis etch is in 0.4mm nickel silver for improved stength and rigidity. No need to buy an expensive chassis assembly jig, this chassis can be folded up around a 12" steel rule. It fits the Alexander and Nu-Cast bodies body with only one small alteration to the drag box under the cab. This has to be reduced in height by approx 1mm to accomodate the two wires holding the brake pull lever. We have successfully fitted one of these chassis to the London Road Models etched kit with a little extra effort to allow for the difference in footplate thickness.
3 The all new chassis works on the same proven principles as our NER P3, LNER/BR J27 chassis but with the benefit of hindsight and experience has even more detailed features.
4 We still use the tried and proven 54:1 2-stage gearbox and Mashima 1420 motor for EM gauge and either a 1220 or 1020 motor for OO versions.
5 The coupling rods are made up from 8 etched pieces and pivot on the crankpins.
6 The brake hangers are prototypical in appearance and the rigging is prototypical in operation. (See image of the underside of the chassis)
7 Provision has been made for the use of Gibson Plunger Pickups. Should you wish to use American style current collection then pickups aren't necessary at all.
8 Our test chassis will run 24" Radius curves in EM gauge and Set Track 2nd radius curves in OO gauge.
9 Cost for both versions of the loco and tender chassis kit is £55.00 inc P&P (UK Mainland only).
10 Cost of loco chassis kit with Mashima 1420 motor £76.50 inc P&P.

Above is a photo of our BR class J21 fitted with the production version of our latest Easi-Rider chassis. The loco chassis is fitted with hornblocks on the leading axle and the middle and rear axles pivot on a compensation unit that incorporates the drive train. The OO version of this chassis is available for immediate despatch.
The redesigned brake pivots are integral with the footplate support brackets and the brake hangers and shoes are copied from the works drawings. The outside brake rigging is prototypical and complements the new brake gear. Following established Easi-Rider practice, the brake gear is removable to facilitate driving wheel fitting.
The frames are full profile where possible and sport a detailed firebox lower portion and ashpan. Full profile frames greatly enhance the appearance of the loco as they hide the back of the driving wheels.

The tender chassis has prototypical double pull rods for the brakes along with a realistic brake hanger and shoe assembly. If assembled correctly, the brake gear is completely removable. the brake shoes are very close to whel rims for added realism without being a source of short circuits. the chassis was designed around 3'-91/4" x 12 spoke wheels (Ø15.00mm) but consideration was given to the fact that these may not be readily available so the brake shoe profile allows the use of Ø16.00mm wheels.
This Easi-Rider Chassis kit is available for sale direct from 52F Models now. Price £55.00 including 1st class postage, UK Mainland only. Overseas carriage will be at cost. Please make all cheques payable to "52F Models".
